MCA 2025 Prize Winner: Roger Casals

Roger Casals is Professor of Mathematics at the University of California Davis whose interests include contact and symplectic topology, geometric
topology, h-principles and cluster algebras. He took his Ph.D. from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2015 and held positions at the Institute of Mathematics ICMAT-CSIC, Madrid, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
and University College London before joining the UC Davis in 2018. He is the recipient of an NSF Career Award, a Sloan Research Fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, a Vicent Caselles Mathematical Research Award from
the Spanish Royal Mathematical Society and the BBVA Foundation, and the José Luis Rubio de Francia Prize from the Spanish Royal Mathematical Society.
